Does anyone know how to set the ai to go prone is it done in the med or using a wac?

Nothing of all that. Stock AI doesn't go prone because they were not given the prone animation in their .ADM files. The .ADM files control which .BAD animations files must be used for various actions.

The AI (or to be more precise, the .ADM files) has been modified in the TIOcoop mod, so some characters go prone, but others cannot.

It's a dynamic thing, you cannot force it.
